With this work I am interested in capturing the mood of the unexplainable. The works explore aspects common to religion , the occult, superstition, spirituality , mystery or even aliens.

The Colours

It’s not so much about these themes in it self but more about what colours, shapes and compositions they might evoke.
To do this I thought it would be a good idea to use two coats of color with transparency and using some blend modes trying to simulate light more than paint.

The Colours

I used Perlin Noise that has been criticised for having to many artificial artefacts, but to me sounded just perfect to have elements that are almost figurative but abstract enough to keep interpretation open.
I made sure the “coats of Light” has some grain in it to steal that aesthetic from analogue photography.
I choose to do 3 x 3 panels for both variety and patterns feel, inspired a little bit by the negatives of analogue photography.
